Second semester changes.
So, second semester started today. My first class seems good, Tuesday is going to be my hardest day, and then an evening class on Wednesday. It's nice to have a purpose again.
Also happening this week, my roommates and I are ending our former lease and beginning a new one with our new roommate, Anke (she's another girl in our program). My French roommate has completely moved out, we're all switching around rooms, and as luck would have it I am giving up my amazing full bed single room to move into the twin bed double room to be shared with Anke. Not thrilled with this arrangement is an understatement but it's only five months of my life, I can deal with it. In honor of the new roommate, we're commencing a chore chart! Again, not thrilled. But, to put myself in a better mood I bought myself a pretty white and gold duvet cover, a yellow hand towel, and a toothbrush.
In other news, we ran out of fuel for the heater in our apartment. My roommates and I don't want to pay another 500 euros to get it refilled, so we're slowly freezing to death. We have two electric heaters that we fight over each night. I tried to find a hot water bottle today but there's a chance they don't exist in France. We're talking to our landlord at our meeting on Thursday to see if we can get him to pay for the fuel (it's his fault anyway, it's his World War II era heater that sprung a leak and wasted half our fuel).
Chris, Lindsey and I have formed a party planning committee to handle Amber and Michigan's upcoming birthdays. It's going to be a fun weekend.
