The beginning of the photo barrage: Paris.

This was my first meal in Paris. I settled down at a café down the street from my hotel, ate a croque monsieur (ham and cheese sandwich), drank a Coca Light, and wrote in my journal.

My first night in Paris there was this ridiculous roller-blading thing. I kid you not, at least 10,000 people skating, biking and walking through the streets of Paris with the police clearing the way for them at 11 p.m. Even the police were on rollerblades.

Rollerblading policemen at the Louvre!

Harley-Davidson Paris! I thought there were a lot of motorcycle in Paris, but there's twice as many down South where I am. It's beautiful weather, never rains, and the streets are too skinny for cars.

Me standing in the middle of the Champs-Elysées. The Arch de Triomphe is I kid you not two miles away. That was the longest walk of my life to get down there.

The view out of my hotel room. That café right down the street was the best place I ate at during my entire stay. The waiters there definitely hated me. The only place I ate at more was the bakery down the street where I ordered a quiche lorraine every morning for breakfast.

Ballroom dancing people in the Open Air Sculpture Garden on the River Seine. I sat, watched and ate a nutella crepe.

Indiana Café!

View of the Sacre Coeur from the first platform of the Eiffel Tower.

View of the top of the Eiffel Tower from the second platform. (I walked up all 700 steps by the way, no elevator for this girl. You can only walk up to the second platform, at which point it was so busy that I didn't bother catching the elevator to the every very top. Next time I'm in town I'll make it to the top.)

Next to come: Marseille and Saint Tropez!
